The business was established in 1958 and incorporated in 1978. James Wilkes Limited now employs about 25 direct staff including four professional and technical, two office and administration, two yard staff together with qualified site managers, bricklayers, carpenters, labourers and plasterers. All of our site operatives carry CSCS cards to prove their particular skills and level of achievement.

We have been members of the NHBC for forty years presently grade A1, and we have built a number of bespoke houses, we have also members of the Federation of Master Builders for almost fifty years and our principal staff have always played an active part in the Wolverhampton branch of that organisation.

We are warranty registered members which allows us to offer a protected ten year warrantee through their scheme and of CHAS, the construction health and safety scheme, and as such our employees follow the best safety practices. We are on  Constructionline’s panel and so we have regular checks on our work, our health and safety, our accounts and our general business practices. Both our Managing Director and Project Manager are incorporated into the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and we enjoy the support services of that organisation.
